About the Role
Senior FF&E Designer (Residential)
Central London
£60,000 - £67,000
We are representing a well-established and reputable design studio renowned for its commitment to excellence and innovation. Our client is currently looking to engage a highly creative professional with a proven track record in delivering high-end, luxury projects.
The Role & Responsibilities
The role involves leading FF&E design for high-end residential projects from concept through to installation, ensuring every element reflects the studio’s refined aesthetic and commitment to excellence. You will provide creative direction, mentorship, and support to junior team members while acting as the main point of contact for clients, project managers, and suppliers. Managing client meetings with professionalism and confidence, you will coordinate closely with contractors, suppliers, and fabricators to ensure seamless project delivery. Responsibilities include preparing mood boards, material palettes, and presentation documents; sourcing and curating luxury furniture, lighting, textiles, and artwork; and designing bespoke pieces such as case goods, upholstery, and custom lighting. The position also entails developing and maintaining detailed FF&E schedules and specifications, managing project budgets, procurement, and logistics with precision, and overseeing installations and on-site quality control. Throughout all stages, you will ensure a cohesive and exceptional client experience aligned with the studio’s values and creative vision.
Key Skills & Attributes
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing all phases of residential projects from concept through to completion, supported by a design-related degree or equivalent qualification. They will demonstrate excellent knowledge of suppliers, artisans, and materials both locally and internationally, alongside strong presentation skills and client-facing experience. Proven ability to manage budgets and oversee procurement processes is essential, as are exceptional organisational and communication skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite is required, while experience with Spec Designer or Estimac will be considered advantageous. The successful candidate will possess thorough experience in writing and managing FF&E specifications, as well as the confidence and discretion to work closely with private, high-profile clients. A collaborative approach and the ability to lead by example are key, combined with adaptability and composure in a fast-paced environment.
